The Ponte Milvio and Via Flaminia area is a nice place for shopping. There are two supermarkets at walking distance and a shopping centre (Pontemilvio Galleria Mercato) right on the back of our Bed and Breakfast - Flaminia House. To reserve a Room, please visit the Reservation Page
The several restaurants and shops in the Galleria Mercato are open daily from 9,00 a.m. to 9 p.m. You can visit the two floors of shops and restaurants, and the daily food market at the main floor. A parking lot is also available in the underground level. Pontemilvio Galleria Mercato address: Via Riano 15 (near Ponte Milvio Square, follow Via Flaminia from Piazzale Ponte Milvio, to the first street on the right).
To reach all these shopping destinations, you may need a car. Why not take advantage of Sixti.com Car rental: they usually offer small city cars for just a bunch of coins (even less than 10,00 euro a day)!
Porta di Roma Mall
A large shopping area not far from Flaminia House B&B, opened in July 2007. This includes IKEA and Auchan Market, a Movie theatre, Dechatlon Sport Shop, Merlin and several distinguished shops such as Media World, Zara Home and others.
Designed by the Architect Gino Valle, covers more than 150,000 square metres, making it one of Europe's biggest malls.
Built by the Galleria Commerciale Porta di Roma S.p.A., this is one of several projects for the urban renewal of Rome and the development of the city's north-western suburbs.
Porta di Roma is a major project for an integrated complex of buildings to contain commercial space, residential units, cafés and restaurants as well as a university campus, hotels and private and public office space .
How to reach Porta di Roma Mall: from Viale di Tor di Quinto, get the Bus line 69 and get off at the Piazzale Jonio Bus stop. From there walk to the Bus stop in Via Val Melaina (the street that crosses Piazzale Jonio) and get the Bus line 38, it will take you to the Porta di Roma shopping centre.
By car, from the GRA-Grande Raccordo Anulare, look for Bufalotta Exit or Via delle Vigne Nuove Exit. Follow the direction to Area Commerciale (you will also notice the IKEA Logo Tower).

To reach Castel Romano Designer Outlet from Flaminia House B&B, drive your car to Via Flaminia and than to the Ring (GRA-Grande Raccordo Anulare) on the direction Fiumicino Airport. Where driving on the ring, search for the exit to Via Pontina. Follow Via Pontina, to the direction of Pomezia. Exit at Castel Romano Industrial Area. The Castel Romano is just beyond the exit.
Parco Leonardo
Not far from the Fiumicino Airport, Parco Leonardo is still the Italian Biggest Mall. This Mall is like a city in the city, a futuristic project made by the Italian building company Gruppo Caltagirone. The shopping centre is very close to the Leonardo da Vinci Fiumicino Airport of Rome, open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., including sundays ... “for shopping lovers”.
To reach the Parco Leonardo Mall from Flaminia House B&B, drive from Via Flaminia to the Ring (GRA-Grande Raccordo Anulare) follow the directions to the Fiumicino Airport (Leonardo da Vinci Airport). Exit to Parco Leonardo Mall (Centro Commerciale). Enjoy your shopping.
If you would like to reach Parco Leonardo by bus from Flaminia House, we would suggest you to go to the Tiburtina Station and from there get the Train FM1 to Fiumicino Airport (FM1). Get off at the Parco Leonardo Stop.
Roma Est Shopping Center
You can visit this nice Mall, with more than 220 shops and a Multiplex Movie center, Restaurants and services, and a large market (Panorama) for a total of more than 13.000 squared meters.
To visit this Commercial Center from Flaminia House B&B, drive your car on Via Flaminia to the Ring (GRA-Grande Raccordo Anulare), on the direction to A1 Firenze Highway direction. Do not take the Roma-Firenze Highway, but just follow the Ring until the exit to the A24 Highway. Take the A24 Highway on the direction of the city of l'Aquila. You will find a special exit to the Roma Est Mall (just after the Lunghezza exit on the Highway). Exit the Highway on "Roma Est". The Roma Est shopping center is just beyond the Roma Est Highway exit (21 Km. from the Ring).
If you would like to reach the RomaEst Shopping centre for any other side of Rome, just try to reach the Ring (GRA-Grande Raccordo Anulare) and try to get to the Roma - l'Aquila A24 Highway. Exit the Ring to the Highway, on the direction to the city of l'Aquila. On the Highway, exit to Roma Est. Enjoy your shopping.
Valmontone Outlet
The Valmontone Outlet is at the foot of the famous area known by the name of ‘Roman Castles’, at about 40 km from Rome. Needless to say, the artistic heritage and lifestyle of Italy’s capital city are a unique attraction for international tourism. Besides the many monuments and works of art one can admire, visitors must not neglect however to pay fair tribute to the special dishes of the local cuisine, which has in the ‘Roman Castles’ area its very heart. How to go to Valmontone Outlet - Fashion District by car. From the centre of Rome, find any direction to the Ring (GRA-Grande Raccordo Anulare), East side, and exit to the Highway A1 Rome - Naple. Proceed to the direction of Naple. Leave the Highway at the fourth exit, on the Valmontone exit. The Valmontone Outlet is at very short distance from the Valmontone A1 Highway Valmontone exit.

Centro Commerciale Anagnina
Even if this Mall is at the opposite side of the city, compared to where Flaminia House is, why not spend some time to visit it? To reach Centro Commerciale Anagnina, get the Tram Line number 2 and get off to Piazzale Flaminio. Get the Metro A to Anagnina and get off at the final station (Anagnina). There should be a shuttle bus that will bring you to the commercial Center (See www.Ikea.com site to see if the shuttle is available from the Rome Anagnina Ikea Mall, part of the Anagnina Commercial Center).

Buying wines near Ponte Milvio
If you are looking for good wineries you do not have to move from Ponte Milvio Area, there are several well known wine shops and wine merchants in the area, who will give you helpful and very knowledable services. Thery are conoisseur's establishments, even if the face strong competition from supermarkets. You can stop and taste at the La Cantinetta Enoteca in Via della Farnesina 101. This is a large and new wine merchant and win-bar proprietor, particularu strong in Italian wines, with more than 600 brands on stock. In the Ponte Milvio Square, there is also a small but experienced wine shop with a proprietor with a great experience always ready to give you expert advice. A selected number of wine labels are available in its cave, with wines also sold by the case. The name of the winery is Cantina XXIX Enoteca – Piazzale Ponte Milvio 29, Phone 063333462. On the side of it, at night time, two wine bars are always crowded of people tasting their great and day by day changing wine labels. These are Jarro il quattordicesimo Cocktail Bar and its competitor, on the next door.
If you want to taste food and wine, we suggest a stop at the Peccati di Gola just steps from Piazzale Ponte Milvio, in Via Flaminia 454 (phone 0633225331, opening hours from 9:00 to 2:00, sundays from 18:00 to 02:00).

Feel the power at the Olympic Stadium
Why not attend a soccer match at the Olympic Stadium, just 5 minutes from Flaminia House? An incredible experience of the Italian culture. From September until May, you can catch one of the always in competition teams of Rome, the AS Roma and AS Lazio. They play nearly every Sunday at the Stadio Olimpico, at walking distance from Flaminia House. The cheapest tickets are about € 15 and can be purchased at the Stadium's box office or at one of the many Roma or Lazio stores around the central Rome. If you like to dare, the cheapest and most lively seats - think colored flares, deafening cheers - are in the curva sections of the stadium. Be careful, each curva is populated by a single team. Romanisti are in the curva sud, while Laziali are found in curva nord. The match is around 90 minutes, but you have to be there well before the beginning, to better feel the competition. To get to the Olympic Stadium take Metro Line A to Flaminio, then Tram 2 to Piazza Mancini and follow the crowds as the stadium is right across the river. Tickets are sold at - AS Roma Store (Piazza Indipendenza) and Lazio Point (Via Farini, 34). Good luck!
