Where We Are
Flaminia House Bed and Breakfast is located at the number 484 of Via Flaminia (also known as Via Flamina Vecchia, or Old Flaminia Street), one of the oldest Roman streets. Just two blocks from Piazzale Ponte Milvio and from the old Roman Ponte Milvio Bridge on the Tevere River, a place recently became a must for local people looking for nice restaurants and meeting points.
Stay in a strategic position: close to tourism attractions, far from tourism tracks!
We are in a strategic position with bus lines that easily take you to the most visited tourism attractions. From here our guests can visit Rome as locals: in walking distance are a great number of wonderful restaurants of all price ranges, where one is off the beaten track of tourism and can experience a bit of genuine local flavour.
What makes the Ponte Milvio area so fascinating is that you could walk in the neighbourhood at night in complete safety, and you could go to the area restaurants and feel just like locals.
Food places range from family and high style restaurants, fast foods, brasseries, and even two sushi take away bars. Just in front of the Flaminia House Bed and Breakfast, several wineries will serve you a wide choice of wine and local food until late night. You can always try to taste the American food cooked style served by a meet restaurant in Via Flaminia Vecchia or the food served at the table by a Japanese restaurant in Ponte Milvio Square. In a very small place a Spanish "tapas" style food is available, along with several pizzeria restaurants, serving take away or at the table pizza or any other typical food the local people like to eat.
You can easily visit all these food places since they are all at walking distance from the Flaminia House bed and breakfast (and have special discounts arranged by us with our favourite restaurants!).
Direction by car
From Fiumicino Airport, take the way to the city. Turn right to the second way out to the Grande Raccordo Anulare (the Ring), to the direction of Firenze. Follow the Ring until the Exit Number 7 (Via Flaminia). Exit there and follow Via Flaminia to the Centre of the city until you reach the direction to Tor di Quinto.
Take Tor di Quinto street until Ponte Milvio square (at the third traffic light). Turn to the right at the traffic light on Ponte Milvio Square and again to the right to Via Flaminia Vecchia. Park the car as soon as you enter the street. The number 484 is on the right side of the street.
Taxi from Fiumicino Airport
Regular Taxi cars are usually waiting for you at the Fiumicino Terminal pedestrian exit. The fare for the transfer from the Fiumicino Airport to Via Flaminia Vecchia, in the city of Rome, is approximately 40.00/50.00 Euro. The transfer will take around 40 minutes. If you would like to, we will provide the name of trustable limousine hiring company that will wait for you in the Airport. The fixed cost of a limousine is 38,00 euro (less than a regular taxi!)
From Ciampino Airport
There are several ways to go from the Ciampino Airport to the Central Railway Station of Rome (Roma Termini). The easyest way to arrive at Flaminia House is by taxi, but we can do something better for you: we can book a professional car driver that will wait for you at the airport and will drive you to the Flaminia House at the discounted fare of 38,00 euro, all inclusive. Almost all of our guests prefer to take a bus to the Termini Station (4 euro with Terravision) and from there a taxi to Flaminia House (around 17,00 euro). Other options are public bus lines: Terravision company has buses departing to the Roma Termini Railway Station every 10 minutes, at the discounted fare of 4 euro or at the regular fare at 5 euro (this will be a 40 minutes ride). The fixed cost of a cab to the Termini Station is 30,00 euro (buses to the Ciampino Station and from there to the Central Station plus trains are also available).
From Termini Station
A taxi ride from Termini Station to Via Flaminia Vecchia 484 is 17 euro... more or less, and a big peace of mind. For a public transportation we suggest you to enter in the station and follow the direction to the Underground Metro. Take the Metro Line A to the direction of "Battistini" and get off at the "Flaminio/Piazza del Popolo" Metro Station (after 4 stops from the Termini Station). You will find yourself in the center of Rome (Piazza del Popolo). From there, you can catch the small upground train number 2 to the direction of Piazza Mancini and exit at the last stop (Piazza Mancini). The tram number 2 is very frequent (every 5 minutes) and brings you straight to Via Flaminia until the Tevere River. From Piazza Mancini you can get one of the many buses to Ponte Milvio Square, such as the 232, 220, 911, 446, 301 e 200. Get off at the Ponte Milvio Square. You will recognize Ponte Milvio Square from the small squared Roman Tower in front of the Milvio Bridge.
Just look at the church in the road: Via Flaminia Vecchia is the small street on the right, starting from Ponte Milvio Road. Walking by Via Flaminia, after just 200 meters you will find the number 484, on your right. You can even get off when the Tram 2 arrives at the end of Via Flaminia, and it turns to the left (get off at the Pinturicchio Stop). From there you can go back to Via Flaminia and pass the Tever River walking on the pedestrian bridge of Ponte Milvio (it depends on how many pieces of luggage you have, it is a short walk)).
Other direction to Flaminia House Bed and Breakfast are available, we will help you to organize the best way to reach our location. Transportation to and from the airport is available by a professional car service at a fixed rate. Please ask us for advice.
